Gerrin and Rocelle's Wedding

August 23, 2009 at 11:00pm

Gerrin and Rocelle are now officially married and what a cute couple they make. I have known Gerrin since my PLU days, we were both Computer Science majors, and we now both work at Boeing.

I have take a few other photos of Gerrin back when he was a single guy on the hunt and more recently photos of the actual engagement last summer. I have always had a good time taking their photos and this occasion was no different.

Their wedding was at the beautiful mansion in Gig Harbor called Kensington Gardens. The house was perched on top of a hill and surrounded by a well kept gardens and an elegant fountain just outside the main entrance.

The wedding party arrived around 1:30pm and since Gerrin and Rocelle had decided not to see each other on their wedding day the women and men dressed separately. I stapped some prep photos and then we moved on to photos of the groomsmen with the groom and the bridesmaids with the bride.

The wedding was underway at 4pm in the little courtyard outside. Gerrin and Rocelle had a unique wine unity ceremony where they mixed two different wines and drank together. They each read the vows they had written which were both beautiful and funny. Their vows were written separately but both contained a reference to died root beer.

Following the ceremony I got some time to shoot the formal group shots and lots of the new couple. I really like some of the more casual shots against a white wall. Gerrin and Rocelle were just talking, relazing and smiling at each other against a clean background. It was fun to capture their interactions.

The reception followed with tastey food and lots of heartfelt toasts from friends and family. It was clear that the new couple has a great support network and have cultivated some quality relationships.

The dancing started up quickly lead by a great set of DJ's who brought energy and some nicely placed audio humor to the event. The dance floor was filled with young and old spinning and celebrating.

Gerrin and Rocelle's exit for the evening consisted of a walk out the front door of the mansion through some staged snow lit from the ground to a beautiful purple and red.

Congratulations to both Gerrin and Rocelle and their families. What a great couple they have become.
